Tehachapi California?

Little town in the middle of nowhere with very modern shopping (can you say Super Walmart?) has a long history as a railroad stop. Here’s what Google has to say:

"Tehachapi is city in the Tehachapi Mountains of southern California. Northwest, a viewpoint overlooks the Tehachapi Loop, a long, spiral section of railway track" (we saw this - quite cool!). "In town, the Tehachapi Depot Railroad Museum has antique railroad tools and signs telling the story of the city's early settlers." The town was put on the map when the great railway came through in the 1870's.
