There are no strangers . . . only friends you haven’t met as yet.
That’s an old saying... one that I’ve truly come to believe. Last night that was proven to me once again. After we set up our spot for the night and had our dinner of roasted chicken on our little grill, we met a really sweet couple camping next to us. As we sat around the campfire watching the moon rise, we shared stories of kids, Grand kids (theirs), dogs and many other of life’s challenges and loves. Marty (the husband) is a veteran who, like many others who returned from the Gulf War, had many physical and mental challenges. It was good to hear them speak highly of the VA services. Turned out they live in Live Oak, very near my hometown of Jacksonville Florida and have a business putting on major fireworks shows. I was reminded of the fact that the world is a small place. But also that if you open yourself up to people and talk… you never know who just might become your brand new "old friend." c'est la vie
happy Trails
