OUR FAVORITE RV MUST-HAVE EQUIPMENT 

We’ve been on the road in our RV for over 3 years. During that time, we have come to rely on several RV related items that make our life better. Here, we will list our necessities and give you an Amazon link. If you use this link to purchase any of these items, we will earn a small commission (at no extra expense to you) So here goes! 

We’re going to start with (what we consider) necessities for the RV: 

 First is our Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch

We didn’t want all the weight of a traditional fifth wheel hitch. The Anderson Hitch is lightweight, easily removable from the bed of the truck (it weighs only 37 lbs). Click HERE for specs. Hitching up is a breeze every time! We've towed our 5th wheel over 27,000 miles with it! 

Leveling Blocks 

We tried pieces of wood, but they were too cumbersome to lug around and these lightweight stacking pieces make it quick and easy to get our rig level. We find these much more convenient than the bucket-looking ones as we can stack them various heights depending on the slope of our site.

Chocks
Safety First! Always chock your wheels! These are small and convenient. 

Electricity

Campground power can be questionable, so we rely on this surge/low voltage protector to protect all our electronics. Pro Tip – Get a length of chain and lock it onto your pole so jealous neighbors don’t try to relieve you of it!  

We also carry a dog bone so we can hook up to a 30-amp pole. 

Water

Hooking up to a spigot isn’t as simple as screwing on the hose. We use several items for convenience and safety: 

Splitter - With an extra hose for rinse-offs. This is the best one and worth the money.

Quick Connect - So much easier than screwing on hoses! Link here.

Water Filter - A basic Camco Filter (not for drinking water). Make sure to change it regularly and don't try to save a buck with the off-brand ones!

Pressure Regulator - Get this one before you have a water line blow out! (ask us how we know)  

Drinking Water - We have two 5-gallon jugs we fill along the way. This USB rechargeable dispenser makes it super convenient. 

Last on our list, but first in our hearts is Starlink

There have only been a handful of places where we could not use Starlink due to tree cover. But we got creative and took Starlink to an open area that allowed us to work!
